Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, agreed to pay bribes of $500,000 in a scheme that involved cheating on college entrance exams to help their daughters, Isabella and Olivia Giannulli, get into the University of Southern California, according to court documents. Andrew Lelling, the U.S. attorney for MA stated that the people arrested include nine coaches, two examination administrators, one exam proctor, one college administrator and 33 parents. Court documents allege the couple paid bribes totaling $500,000 to have their two daughters designated as recruits to the University of Southern California crew team, despite not actually participating in the sport. Huffman has been arrested and is in custody as of Tuesday morning. Prosecutors in the USA attorney's office in Boston say his company, Edge College & Career Network, amassed $25 million through the fraud.

In some cases, Singer's associates created fake athletic "profiles" in an effort to improve the students chances of getting accepted by making them appear to be highly successful high school athletes.

Among those charged were college coaches, Hollywood celebrities and other elite socialites.

Reactions: "So Aunt Becky from Full House and Lynette Scavo from Desperate Housewives are involved in this college exam scheme and have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud".

Much of the indictment revolves around William Rick Singer, the founder of a for-profit college counseling and preparation business known as "The Key". Once they were granted the time, authorities say, Singer told the parents to get their children to take the tests in two locations he "controlled". At the test taking center, it's said a proctor corrected her answers afterward.

Felicity Huffman's husband, William H. Macy, who has not been indicted in the bribery scheme (yet), starred in nine seasons of the Showtime series Shameless.

Loughlin and Huffman (as well as Macy) have yet to issue a statement or comment upon the charges.

One of the cooperating witnesses, Rudy Meredith, was the head coach of the women's soccer team at Yale. What's more disturbing is how these entitled kids robbed spots from hardworking, honest, and ethical students - and that's totally not cool for school. We were always like, 'You know what?
