Ice pellets and freezing rain could impact Wednesday's commute

The temperature is scheduled to switch to the plus side Thursday with a high of 6 Celsius with a 60 per cent chance of rain or snow.

From a wake-up temperature of -10 C, Monday's forecast high is 1 C rising to 6 C overnight. Freezing rain and sleet are likely after 2 a.m. with our North Zone seeing some snow and sleet mixing in too. Northeast winds gusting up to 50 km/h will also generate local blowing snow, leading to reduced visibilities. Dense fog will be experienced at times through the day, with occasional drizzle. Sidewalks and parking lots could become slippery too. The likelihood of precipitation is low but that would be the likely precipitation type IF precipitation were falling.

Rain showers are moving out of Metro Detroit this Tuesday morning as temperatures begin to tumble.

Most areas will top out around 60 degrees once again, but a cold front expected to move through the area tonight will temporarily bring an end to the unusual warmth. They say most of the snow cover will disappear Tuesday.
