Spanish midfielder Brahim Diaz has left Manchester City for £15 million, returning to Spain with Real Madrid.

But, Real Madrid have prevailed in their bid to secure the services of the 19-year-old, although the transfer fee is yet unknown - different figures have been quoted in different sources.

According to the Independent, that would rise to 40% if Los Blancos opt to sell Diaz on to "another Manchester club" - seemingly created to prevent a future move to rivals United.

Upon signing a six-and-a-half year deal, he said: 'This is the happiest day of my life, I couldn't have a better gift for Three Kings Day.

"I'm arriving at the club I dreamed of playing as a boy".

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has ruled out the possibility of midfielder, Phil Foden leaving the club this January transfer window.

The Spanish youth worldwide came through City's youth academy and has made 15 first-team appearances for the English side. "That's why today I want to show my enormous satisfaction with the arrival of a player who has that special talent and those values that can make him very important to this team".

Subsequently, Brahim will step on the pitch for Santiago Bernabéu for the first time wearing the Real Madrid CF shirt and will attend the media in the press room.

"We will continue to build a Real Madrid ready to thrill Real Madrid fan in the present and in the future".

Madrid president Florentino Perez praised the youngster and said his enthusiasm to join the European champions will help him succeed.

He only made 15 first-team appearances during his time at City and played just four times this season.
