New Year's Day Mega Millions jackpot hits $415 million

Someone in OH started off the new year a whole lot richer.

The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 12,607,306, according to the lottery.

The estimated jackpot for Friday's drawing is $40 million, or $23.9 million in cash.

The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 34, 44, 57, 62, 70 and Mega Ball 14.

It's the 8th largest jackpot in the game's history after there were no winners in the drawing on December 28.

CNN has reached out to the New York Lottery for additional information on where the winning ticket was sold.

It was not immediately clear whether any tickets matched the winning numbers.

An unnamed victor in NY took home the jackpot from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing. That victor still hasn't come forward. The only other January 1 victor was in Texas in 2008. The ticket was sold at Broad Avenue Mini Market in Ridgefield.

If the money isn't claimed by late April, the money will return to the 44 states that hold Mega Millions lotteries.
