Tomlin says he decided not to play Brown in Sunday's must-win season finale against the Bengals because the two had a "lack of communication" in the days leading up to the game.

According to a report by Jordan Heck of the Sporting News, Brown stopped following the Steelers on Instagram and started following the 49ers, along with several of their players, making it evident that there is a rift between him and his current team. Antonio Brown has generated some drama by hinting that he wants out of Pittsburgh, and there are rumbles that Brown and Ben Roethlisberger are having some relationship issues.

The head coach told reporters that Brown had discomfort in his knee on Friday and was sent for an MRI, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Brown reportedly snapped and threw a football in Roethlisberger's direction during a Wednesday walkthrough, then chose to sit out the team's remaining practices and meetings, including the Saturday night meeting before the game.

"It hurts you when you don't have one of the better players in the game", Roethlisberger said during his appearance on 93.7 The Fan. Oh, and Roethlisberger says Brown is ignoring him and teammates ever since the incidents.

Brown pressed the "Tweet" button at the exact same time Tomlin appeared to criticize his behavior. " Brown was accused of almost striking a toddler with one of the pieces of large furniture he hurled from a 14th-story balcony during an outburst in April, a lawsuit stated". Brown, who has spent his entire nine-year career in Pittsburgh, has asked for a trade, CBS Sports reported. "I have not talked to him since then". With three years left on his contract, Brown is owed $22 million for 2019.

"If there was a blowup or something, I sure as heck didn't see it", Roethlisberger said (via ESPN). "I will certainly talk to him". He said he would welcome good ideas from any corner of the organization. "I know guys that are frustrated".
