He threw TD passes to Garcon and Kendrick Bourne on the opening two drives and coasted from there to the most lopsided win in this series since San Francisco won the first meeting 38-7 in 1970.

Irvin, 31, played just 23 snaps the week before and has slowly been taken out of the defensive plan under new head coach Jon Gruden. And with Mack out of the picture after that early September trade, Irvin had been Oakland's primary dispenser of quarterback pressure, leading the team with three sacks.

San Fransisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert's night was cut short against the Oakland Raiders after suffering perhaps one of the most gruesome injuries in recent memory. Irvin finished his Raiders career with 18 sacks in 38 games. The movement swelled to include dozens of players last season but their ranks have shrunk this season, with Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid and two Miami Dolphins players being the most notable protestors now in the NFL.

The Raiders will get nothing in return for Irvin, however, and in fact could owe him more than $3.7 million over the last eight games of the season - the remaining portion of his scheduled salary of $8 million.

"We weren't in our nickel defense very much", Gruden said. So in the base defense, sometimes he doesn't fit the role that we need done. He's an edge rusher. We haven't had the opposition behind in the chains a lot.

"It's a frustrating thing to be sitting on the record you have, be going through some of the things we're going through as an offense and still not being able to put points on the board", tight end Jared Cook said. Irvin's six games with his fewest snap counts since joining the Raiders in 2016 have come this year.
