So, considering how this particular distribution method worked out well for Bungie when D2 went free for a month on PS4-the game managed to top digital console sales for September-it wouldn't be too surprising if PC fans wind up dropping some coin on the DLCs in order to keep playing.

Destiny 2 on PC is free for Battle.net users from November 2 to November 18, developer Bungie announced at BlizzCon 2018. Naturally, Activision is only offering the base game, meaning that you'll have to buy the DLCs if you are interested in them. Those who do already own Destiny 2 will receive an exclusive in-game emblem marking the game's one-year anniversary. Note that this is the base game, and doesn't include the "Forsaken" expansion which adds a new campaign to the title. New Battle.net accounts created after 11 a.m. PDT on November 2 (today), will be required to enable Blizzard's SMS Protect before claiming the game.

Destiny 2 is redeemable from https://account.blizzard.com/gifts/. Either way, you'll need to redeem the code through the official portal on the Destiny 2 page here.

This kind of tactic isn't anything new for Activision-Blizzard, who has held multiple free demos, trials and initiatives to attract new players.
