Surface Pro 6 announced: familiar external design, big internal upgrades

The company introduced the Surface in 2012 and has steadily added more products under that brand name, including the Surface Studio all-in-one PC and Surface Laptop clamshell device. This rumor would confirm what was seen in the leaked images of the Surface Laptop 2 from MySmartPrice last month showing no USB-C port. A Microsoft event listing scheduled for October 16 in Auckland, New Zealand, first spotted by WalkingCat and published on Windows Central, revealed that black will be making a comeback to the Surface lineup.

The new Surface Laptop will get a slight processor bump, with the entry-level model coming in at a higher standard.

In terms of hardware in the Surface Laptop 2, Microsoft will reportedly incorporate the cheapest variant with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, clocked up to 3.6GHz, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Following that launch, in the fall of previous year, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop, the Surface Studio and the Surface Book 2.

Microsoft has not detailed the exact battery capacity present inside the Surface Pro 6, but the company does state that the machine will be able to give you 13.5 hours of endurance. The Redmond-based tech giant is expected to announce two new devices: Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Pro 6.

But Tuesday is all about Microsoft (MSFT), which unveiled a slew of devices ahead of the holiday shopping season. A price for the Surface Laptop 2 was not leaked alongside.

The details we have of the Surface Studio 2 include its use of the same sized display (28 inches) as the original. Older Surface Pro Type Covers will still be compatible with the new tablet. The display, powered by 13.5 million pixels, is nearly 40 percent brighter, however, with more contrast.

Microsoft is most likely to unveil the new Windows 10 October 2018 update at its event later tonight.

They pack adjustable noise cancellation, automatic pause and play, which pauses the video a user is watching when they take the headphones off. Even the design of the Surface Pro 6 is going to resemble last year's model. The device will come with Windows 10 in S-Mode pre-installed on the device.
