The CW has revealed the first image of Ruby Rose in full costume as Kathy Kane, aka Batwoman. Called Elseworlds, this year the crossover will "only" be between Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl as their attention turns to Arkham Asylum and its madness.

The Colleen Atwood-designed costume is comic book accurate with the Bat symbol, cape, and Kate Kane's long cherry-red hair. You can check out the new image below. The network is also planning a standalone Batwoman TV series for 2019. Should Batwoman be picked up to series, it will join the above-mentioned shows along with Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning in the CW's comic-heavy line-up.

The annual Arrow-verse crossover will begin production Tuesday in Vancouver, B.C., according to Entertainment Tonight. "But don't call her a hero yet".

Berlanti also spoke out against some of the backlash Rose was met with when she was cast in the part.

In her real life she is Katherine (later Kate) Kane, a wealthy Gotham City heiress who, inspired by Batman's heroic deeds, created for herself a superhero alter-ego.

"Elseworlds" begins with The Flash on December 9th, followed by Arrow on December 10th and Supergirl on December 11th. "The second motto [I lived by] when I came into the industry was, 'Be the person that you needed when you were younger'". Fans objected to Rose playing Batwoman, who will be openly gay in the crossover, despite the actress being lesbian. I like the little touches here, though.
