Kanye West to lunch with Donald Trump this week

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says West is scheduled to have lunch with President Donald Trump on Thursday and meet with Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

West has taken flak for his support of Trump, who won less than 10 percent of the black vote in 2016.

West's wife, Kardashian, visited the White House for a second time at the start of September after taking an interest in Chris Young, a man who was sentenced to life in prison for marijuana and cocaine possession after being arrested in 2010.

Kanye West will reportedly meet Donald Trump at the White House. Kushner has made criminal justice reform a key priority, while Trump has long promised to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, and touts employment numbers as proof of his success.

West's first meeting, before he sees Trump, will be with Kushner. We've been extremely happy with our relationship with Kanye West. "Thank you, Kanye West", Trump said.

After Kanye West's very pro-Trump rant on Saturday Night Live last week, Ariana Grande took the opportunity to roast him a little bit on social media.

West has since apologized for his comments indicating that slavery was a choice.

West's speech was eviscerated by SNL's Pete Davidson who called it "one of the worst, most awkward things I've ever seen here", and mocked Kanye's mental health.

"For someone to grow, they need to know that they got love". Trump told reporters on Monday. "We build factories here in America and create jobs".

"I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country", she added.

"West has previously announced his own plan to run for president in 2020, but has since tweeted "#2024", suggesting it is not clear whether he will challenge Mr Trump at the next election.
