The magazine reported that the two reached an out-of-court agreement which involved her remaining silent on the alleged rape and him paying her $375,000 (£275,000).

Cristiano Ronaldo (33) has been accused of raping a woman and giving her money to keep it a secret, reports The Wall Street Journal.

According to Mayorga, Ronaldo was on vacation on June 12, 2009, where she met him at a hotel in Sin City.

In his Instagram Live video, Ronaldo answered a question from a fan and said: "No, no, no, no, no - what they said today [is] fake, fake news. I am a happy man and all good", the player added, smiling.

However, Ronaldo's lawyer, Christian Schertz, said in a statement through the Juventus midfielder's management company Gestifute that the report was "inadmissible" and that he would seek legal redress for his client from the magazine. It's normal. They want to be say my name. While Kathryn was changing into an outfit to wear in the jacuzzi, Cristiano allegedly "exposed himself", asked her for oral sex, which she allegedly refused, then pulled her into a bedroom and allegedly raped her, according to the lawsuit, per CNN.

In response to this allegation, Ronaldo said in an Instagram video: "No, no, no, no, no". However, on Saturday it provided a document showing the civil suit filed in District Court in Nevada in which the complaint outlines in detail allegations of a sexual assault dated June 13, 2009. In reality, the lawsuit claims, his team was attempting to obstruct a criminal investigation and erode Mayorga's credibility, thus diminishing her chances of pursuing a claim for civil damages.

The rape accusation was first reported one-and-a-half years ago by Der Spiegal, after receiving the related documents from Football Leaks - football version of WikiLeaks.

Reuters was not able to independently verify Mayorga's allegations.

Ms Mayorga, 34, told Der Spiegel she is speaking publicly now as part of the #MeToo movement, where women are sharing stories of abuse. According to court documents Der Spiegel claims to have seen, Ronaldo insists the sex was consensual.
