Obviously the headline features about the streaming media dongle are straightforward: higher resolution than before, HDR support, and a faster processor and swifter WiFi.

Amazon's big hardware event earlier this month didn't reveal everything the company intends to launch in time for the holidays. It will retail for $49.99 and include the new Alexa Voice Remote. The Alexa-enabled stick lets you access a vast library of content available in 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ by just using your voice. Our new quad-core processor delivers a fast and fluid experience and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ provides an incredible picture. Amazon claims that the Fire TV Stick 4K is the first to feature Dolby Vision tech.

Another big change with the updated Fire TV Stick is in the remote - it finally includes a power button and volume controls, which have always been a top request from many users.

New Alexa Voice RemoteThe company also announced a new Alexa Voice Remote created to control TVs, soundbars, and receivers by using a combination of bluetooth, infrared, and cloud services.

Marc Whitten, Vice President, Amazon Fire TV shares the following statement.

Amazon has updated its small Fire TV Stick to include 4K streaming capabilities and a new Alexa Voice Remote. Our new quad-core processor delivers a fast and fluid experience and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ provides an incredible picture. "And it obviously brings the 4K capability to streaming on a stick form factor", Parag Gupta, Head, Product and Marketing, Amazon India told India Today Tech.

The Alexa Voice Remote will start shipping on the same dates for $30 / £30 / €30 when bought separately. My Apple TV remote is a chore to use with its finicky trackpad. In addition to hands-free controls of your binge-watching sessions, the latest remote comes with dedicated power, volume and mute buttons for compatible TVs, soundbars, and A/V receivers. Ultimately, Alexa Voice Remote looks like a delight.
