In addition to this, they've also confirmed that system software 6.0.0 will release alongside Nintendo Online. Native voice chat was incorporated into the port of Fortnite, so we know it's at least possible with the Switch.

After the maintenance is complete, Nintendo Switch Online memberships will be available for purchase. From what we can tell from the Nintendo Direct presentation, they seem to be an accurate rendition of the classic console gamepads. There are options for both individual and family memberships (up to 8 users).

After postponing last week's Nintendo Direct due to the natural disaster in Hokkaido, Japan, Nintendo has rescheduled the presentation for September 13. Nintendo Switch Online, as it's called, will be launching on September 18, and beginning on that date, you'll need to pay a subscription fee in order to play games online.
