Liverpool snatch late draw at Chelsea

Liverpool now boast a flawless record in the league, whilst Chelsea are only two points behind following their goalless draw with West Ham United.

Sturridge's ability has never been in doubt at Liverpool, but his body has all too often let him down, with a series of injuries interrupting his progress over the last four seasons.

The draw at Chelsea extended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season to seven matches, although Manchester City's 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion sees them move to the top of the table on goal difference.

The England global has been plagued by injuries in recent years and struggled to break up Liverpool's attacking trident of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino last season.

Liverpool's ideal start to the Premier League season came to an end after they drew 1-1 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

That attempt was in Sturridge's mind moments after he came on as a substitute in the Premier League rematch at Stamford Bridge with the Reds a goal down.

"I'd like to think [I've scored better goals], but probably not".

Neither side could find a late victor so the spoils were shared and it means Manchester City now sit top of the table with Liverpool second on goal difference and Chelsea two points back in third. I know you will make a fuss of it, but that's football.

"We deserved to win", he continued.

"But it's a great feeling to help get a result for the team". It was not the best game of Mo's career, that's 100%. But I saw a really good performance from my side in a hard game after we'd lost on Wednesday against them.

"We thought West Brom was a good idea for him to get minutes under his belt again, and when he came back, he was an option for us". I'm completely fine. We only gave them one proper chance. He wants to score in these situations. "A good football team creates chances".

Kepa denied Sadio Mane with a strong reflex stop in the second half, but Chelsea looked a threat on the break and Alisson denied Hazard one-on-one after a quick free-kick.
