Mesut Ozil, who missed the win over West Ham through injury, is fit to return at the Cardiff City Stadium following reports Emery had fallen out with the German midfielder over his failure to adapt to his preferred high-tempo pressing game.

After a hard week during which Ozil was attacked by his former Germany coach Joachim Loew, he is fit to return for tomorrow's visit to Cardiff. Having recovered from his illness, Ozil has been back in full training ahead of Arsenal's trip to Cardiff City on Sunday.

'I spoke with him about his best position on the pitch and I know he can play on the right and as the No.10 player. Ozil is continuing to face criticism back home over the situation, but Emery said he is hoping to help the midfielder "continue enjoying his job" by shutting that out. "For that, Mesut has played with me on the right wing and also as No 10 and we are going to continue to do that".

"We started on Tuesday and every day he has been training with the group".

"The commitment is very good from each player and for that I am happy", said Emery.

The new coach told his loan department he wants the youngster available for him this season.

Arsenal won just three Premier League away games in Arsene Wenger's final season before he was replaced by Emery in the summer.

And the Spaniard reckoned his global retirement this summer will now help his domestic form.

Smith Rowe has not been involved in any of Arsenal's three Premier League games so far this term, but could see game time in the cup competitions and the Europa League. And the players, I think, are the same.

"To be more competitive we want to be organised with and without the ball".
