Apple: Consumers Will Pay up for Big Screens

However, we didn't know which of the three supposed iPhone models that will launch this fall would be getting which colors. It will be replaced on all three models with the face-scanning FaceID that Apple introduced with the iPhone X a year ago. Apart from the name, iPhone XS Max is also rumoured to have a bigger battery compared to iPhone XS. The base 6.1-inch LCD version will have a price of €799.

We now know that the largest phone Apple is going to announce, at 6.5-inches, will be called the iPhone XS Max.

"A very small percentage of iPhone 8 devices contain logic boards with a manufacturing defect", according to Apple.

That, they suggest, means Apple will either need to lower prices for large-screen phones-hurting ASPs-or risk losing customers to companies that do. Both models resemble the current iPhone X.

With the iPhone X, Apple changed how it distributed review units to journalists. Just like on the previous X model, it'll be used to unlock the phone, purchase apps, and authorize Apple Pay. Another image published to Slashleaks appears to show a pink model.

Alongside the iPhone X, Apple announced a wireless charging pad that can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time - something that's not now possible with wireless chargers based on the Qi standard.

Meanwhile, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is often correct about Apple's plans, has predicted that the LCD model will clock in between $600 to $700. But all will be revealed september 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater inside Apple Park.
