The gala managed to raise almost £300,000, which will be used to improve the lives of children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa.

So Meghan managed to incorporate her penchant for pantsuits and tuxedoes without breaking any royal dress code.

Shortly after Kensington Palace shared the photo from the couple's night out on Instagram, several people slammed Markle and her outfit via the post's comments' section.

Money raised from the special performance will go towards Harry's longtime charity Sentebale, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of young Africans affected by HIV.

The pair were all smiles as they met up with the creative team behind the hit stage show and joined the cast on stage.

Meghan Markle fans now have two opportunities to get up close and personal with her stunning Givenchy wedding gown, which will be on display in both Windsor and Edinburgh this year and next.

Wednesday's gala marks the start of Meghan and Harry's early autumn events, which will include multiple evening events.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton, was so impressed by the brief performance he stomped his foot.

Prince Harry was given permission from the Queen to get married in the uniform, which was also worn by the Duke of Cambridge.

Prince Harry founded the charity, Sentebale, with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006.

Harry's mother Diana, Princess of Wales, was also well-known for her prominent role in destigmatising AIDS. That's because her husband, Prince Harry, would have to be appointed king and he's now fifth in line for the throne (after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis).
