More silverware for City ... Prem champs beat Chelsea for Community Shield win

Sarri, while beaten by Guardiola's Manchester City in the Community Shield, admits the Catalan was the biggest influence on his decision to join Chelsea.

Amassing more points, wins and goals than any other Premier League team set sky-high standards at Eastlands.

"We were really impressed when he arrived", Guardiola added of Aguero.

The last side to win the Community Shield and then go on to clinch the Premier League title were Manchester United in 2010-11.

On this evidence, City could follow in their archrivals' footsteps at the end of the season. But that was the only sour note for City.

Foden only made five appearances in the Premier League last season but Guardiola claims the midfielder has since matured.

In contrast, Chelsea are starting from scratch after chain-smoking former banker Sarri was hired from Napoli as an antidote to his antagonistic predecessor Conte.

It was a management technique that Guardiola was happy to expand upon as he spoke before City's match against Chelsea at Wembley.

Consigning Conte's favoured 3-4-2-1 formation to the bin, Sarri sent Chelsea out in a 4-3-3 system that malfunctioned from start to finish.

Billed as the pivot who would provide the foundation for Maurizio Sarri's attacking gameplan, Italy midfielder Jorginho was completely out of sorts in his introduction to English football.

But Jorginho made an underwhelming start, repeatedly giving the ball away in risky areas.

Aguero struck his first on 13 minutes after Phil Foden burst forward to find the Argentinian, who wrong-footed Antonio Rudiger with a low shot to become the first City player to reach a double century of goals.

Claudio Bravo gets the nod in goal, Sergio Aguero a spot up front and Fernandinho will captain the side.

Sarri's optimism is diluted by the reality that he had not even spoken to key men Courtois, Hazard and Willian until this weekend and with all three keen to leave Chelsea this summer, the next few days may well define the his hopes for the season ahead.

"The performance of Bernardo Silva was a masterpiece", the City boss said.
