Chelsea to decide whether to step up Wilfried Zaha chase

Rumours of Willian potentially leaving have reportedly forced Maurizio Sarri into considering a move for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha. But Spurs are now set to make a big splash in the transfer market by stealing Wilfried Zaha, a top target for their London rivials Chelsea.

Zaha made his feelings clear to the Palace hierarchy though earlier in the summer by turning down a new contract with improved wages, clearly setting his sights at a move higher up in the Premier League table.

Crystal Palace wide man Andros Townsend says the players are fully prepared for their Premier League start against Fulham.

Chelsea could now make what will be an "eleventh hour" move for the 25-year old Ivory Coat global, with the Mirror suggesting that Tottenham have withdrawn their interest - having been put off by the price-tag. He's very much an integral part of Crystal Palace.

Zaha, 25, who signed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park last summer, would be irreplaceable for Palace at this stage of the window, and the club would see any attempt to open negotiations as unnecessarily provocative at this late stage.

Palace are understood to have placed an asking price of in excess of £70m for the Ivory Coast international's services and Hodgson insists he has no intention of losing Palace's Player of the Year for the past three seasons. And signing Zaha, before Thursday's transfer deadline day, could prove to be a step in that direction for the Blues.
