- An excursion boat exploded in the Bahamas on Saturday, leaving one American dead and several injured.

Schaffer was with her younger sister, mother and stepfather when disaster struck.

Her brother, George Schaffer Jr., said in a Facebook post that Stefanie had two broken arms, a broken wrist a fractured spine and internal injuries to her kidneys, spleen and liver.

Stefanie Schaffer, 22, from Rutland, Vt., lost both her legs in the explosion.

According to Jackson's family, Maleka was on vacation to celebrate her anniversary with her husband, Tyran Jackson.

The Chattanooga, Tennessee native died when the boat she'd been in burst into flames circa 9 a.m Saturday morning reportedFox Chattanooga.

Maleka Johnson was killed and her husband, Tiran, was critically injured.

The U.S. Coast Guard in a tweet said four Americans were airlifted to a hospital in Florida and Knowles said the other five were taken to a hospital on New Providence Island, Bahamas.
