The Walking Dead Season 9 Premiere Date

Prepare to say goodbye to Rick Grimes. The latter, the departure of Rick Grimes, is a massive shift away from the source material where Rick is still alive and in charge.

The Walking Dead's Season 9 premiere date was confirmed during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday. It means everything to me. I love the people that make this show.

The trailer also apparently confirms The Whisperers, a major antagonist group from the comic, are coming to the show, with a zombie giving a creepy whisper at the end.

Ahead of his exit, former star David Morrissey, who played The Governor has spoken out on what the future holds for the show. "This has been the most extraordinary, amazing, useful experience of my career".

Yvette Nicole Brown moderated the panel and spoke to the cast and creators about what we can expect heading into the back half of season four, and after losing *gulp* some major characters. Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on August 12.

Season 9 picks up after the conclusion of the all-out war the survivors waged against Negan and his Saviors, focusing on Andrew Lincoln's character, Rick Grimes, picking up the pieces and putting together the utopian society for a post-apocalyptic world.

While the trailer does a good job setting up the idea that Rick could theoretically be replaceable, it is a bit confusing that it seems to suggest that Maggie is less replaceable, which is a concern considering that Cohan is possibly also departing the show this season.

Andrew Lincoln sounded quite emotional and honest while addressing the crowd. And a large part of me will always be a machete-wielding, stetson-wearing, zombie-slaying sheriff's deputy from London, England.
