Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman slams record; beats Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli

Earlier, Pakistan who once again won the toss and chose to bat against Zimbabwe in the 5th ODI got to a flawless start as Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq scored 168 runs for the first.

Famous for scoring big in the finals, Zaman had scored a splendid 100 in the ICC Champions Trophy final against India past year and just days ago he became the first Pakistani batsman to hit a double century.

Opener Fakhar Zaman became Pakistan's first double centurion in one-day worldwide cricket, achieving the accolade during ODI.

Fakhir Zaman touched this record in just 18 innings, breaking the Sir Viv Richard's record of 21 innings in 1980 and since equalled by Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Quinton de Kock and, most recently, Babar Azam.

Prince Masvaure made 39 and Ryan Murray contributed 47 - personal bests for both players in their short careers - and Peter Moor finished off with 44 not out in a 67-run stand with Elton Chigumbura, allowing Zimbabwe to reach 233 for 4. The opener scored 114 off 106 balls in the final of last year's ICC Champions Trophy as Pakistan defeated India to clinch the title.

The present-day white ball giants in Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan are far behind on the list as each of them took 24 innings to cross the 1000-run mark.

Fakhar Zaman blazed Pakistan's first double century in a one-day cricket worldwide in a record 244-run victory against Zimbabwe.

Apart from this aforementioned feat, Fakhar scored 515 runs in this series and was dismissed only twice.

His innings of 210 runs in the fourth match against Zimbabwe was the first double century in the format by a Pakistani cricketer, and only the eighth overall after Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill. He then quickly changed gears in the death overs as his next 50 runs came off just 17 deliveries. His knock included nine fours and two sixes.

When will the 5th ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe start?

The opening batsman scored 85 after Pakistan elected to bat first.
