To those who have heard Meghan speak recently, especially since her marriage to Prince Harry, the San Fernando Valley-born former TV actress sounds like she's acquiring certain vocal characteristics of a British accent.

The Duchess of Sussex attends the "Your Commonwealth" Youth Challenge Reception at Marlborough House, London.

She wore nude and pale coloured outfits to Trooping The Colour, Ascot and her Cheshire engagements with the Queen, however, there could be a good reason for that.

The fitted mid-length shift is believed to be a nod to her home in California - though the U.S. is not a member of the Commonwealth - and is by American designer Brandon Maxwell, who used to be Lady Gaga's stylist.

For her Royal Ascot debut, Meghan donned their white shirt dress with floral appliques, which she paired look with a matching fascinator, cementing the luxury label's status as her first go-to brand (much like her sister-in-law Kate did with Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen).

It was the first time she's worn a dress by a male designer since becoming a royal.

An expert has suggested Meghan may choose less eye-catching colours to avoid distracting attention from The Queen. He added, "I can also say she intends to become a United Kingdom citizen and will go through the process of that, which some of you may know takes a number of years".

According to Kensington Palace, the event is the "culmination of the Commonwealth's youth leadership workshop".

A new viral video of Meghan Markle has the internet convinced Mrs. Prince Harry has developed an English accent - but some of Hollywood's most renown dialect coaches aren't so sure.

Prince Harry, who was appointed Commonwealth Youth Ambassador earlier this year, said: "Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth".

The pair seemed to get on brilliantly with photos of them laughing and smiling together beamed around the world.
