Anyone hoping for an update to the cheaper Macbook Pro models which don't have this divisive feature have not been updated.

The device reportedly offers up to 2.8-times faster graphics performance on the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and 8-times faster performance on the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The updated MacBook Pro with Touch Bar models will keep the same pricing as in the previous generation, starting at $2699 for the 13-inch model and $3499 for the 15-inch model.

The 13-inch model with Touch Bar can be configured to come with a quad-core Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor clocked at up to 2.7GHz and reaching up to 4.5GHz with Turbo Boost.

'The latest generation MacBook Pro is the fastest and most powerful notebook we've ever made, ' said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing. 256GB is now the minimum storage capacity for the new MacBook Pro.

Apple says only a small number of people who use the MacBook have keyboards that are actually faulty and has launched a program offering free repairs for those people.

The new MacBook Pro includes support for up to 32GB of memory, an improved keyboard for quieter typing and will also be able to compile code faster.

Apple is responding to some of the complaints about the MacBook Pro with the release of new models Thursday. Both have more storage than before: The 15-inch model can go up to a four-terabyte solid-state drive, while the smaller model maxes out at two terabytes. What we didn't know was that apparently this will also extend to Apple's Thunderbolt Display, and the LG UltraFine 4K and 5K displays when plugged into the notebooks as well.

The "Hey Siri" function is also available via Mac for the first time - just like a personal assistant, always ready and waiting to open apps, find documents, play music, or answer your questions.
