Stallone's camp has denied both of the allegations of assault, and even threatened to file claims accusing the alleged victims of filing false police reports.

In 2017, media reports indicated a woman had filed a police report in Santa Monica against Stallone about an incident in the 1990s. High-profile entertainment lawyer Marty Singer, who represents Stallone, said his client denies all allegations against him in a statement, while also admonishing the DA's office and the police department for making the announcement in the first place.

The first involves the rape allegation from 1990, and a source close to the investigation said that this is the case being reviewed by prosecutors. He is free on $1 million bail, but must wear an ankle bracelet.

A Santa Monica Police Department spokesman did not immediately return messages seeking additional details about the referral. The DA's office did not say how long it was expected to take to review the case.

Stallone, 71, became a star after appearing in the Academy Award-winning "Rocky" in 1976. The outlets reported the teen said Stallone, then 40, forced her into a threesome with his bodyguard.

"It wasn't until after the #MeToo movement began making headlines previous year - following the Harvey Weinstein scandal - that she surfaced with the allegations", Singer said.

And last month, he was front and center in the Oval Office when President Trump signed a posthumous pardon for former world champion boxer Jack Johnson, at the urging of Stallone and others.
