Various news outlets are reporting that Liverpool have reached an agreement for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir.

Fekir should complete his medical on Friday, which will see Liverpool tie the deal up before the World Cup starts next week.

Fekir is expected to leave his boyhood club this summer has reportedly told Lyon that he would prefer a move to Liverpool.

Despite this, Goal understands Liverpool believe a deal can be thrashed out before Fekir flies to Russian Federation with his national team this weekend.

Naby Keita has joined from RB Leipzig after a £66m deal was agreed last summer and Fabinho joined from Monaco last week in a deal worth around £39m.

And the Mirror now say the Reds are confident the 24-year-old will be confirmed as a Liverpool player before the weekend.

Didier Deschamps' team play the United States in Lyon on Saturday in their final warm-up game before the finals. The case won't certainly be resolved during the World Cup and I do not think that there will be changes before (the WC).

'We haven't set a starting price because we haven't discussed that yet'.

Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with Fekir, who can operate in a number of forward roles and would in effect be Philippe Coutinho's replacement at Anfield.

Liverpool are looking to clinch the £60 million (€68m/$80m) signing of Nabil Fekir before he heads off to the World Cup with France.
