The group further split as Trump revoked his endorsement of the joint summit communique amid the recent spat between the United States and Europe over the introduction of tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union and Canada by Washington.

Senator Bernie Sanders lashed out at President Donald Trump for his behavior at the two-day G7 summit held in Canada this week.

The joint statement between the leaders of G7 nations comes after President Trump refused to back down from his decision to impose worldwide tariffs on goods, including steel and aluminum imports. I have been Russia's worst nightmare. "I think the G8 would be better".

"We agree that a return by Russian Federation to the G7 format can not happen as long as there isn't any substantial progress in regard to the problems with Ukraine". I'll be honest with you, they have no choice.

"The US unilateralism was good for the world".

"They should let Russian Federation come back in".

The G-7 meeting is not a negotiation.

Let's set the context here.

The other signatories to the plan - Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany - have said they remain committed to the deal so long as Iran is honoring the agreement.

Putin says "Russia welcomes the planned summit of the USA and North Korea and notes China's big contribution to helping settle the crisis on the Korean Peninsula". The addition of South Asian rivals India and Pakistan have also raised questions about the group's long-term cohesiveness.

Yet Trump wants them there, and other than his apparently desperate desire to hang out with Putin, it's hard to imagine why. "Please, we will be glad to see everyone here in Moscow", Putin told reporters at a briefing in China's city of Qingdao.

Putin said he would be willing to meet with Trump to discuss the G-7 and other matters.

"International cooperation can't depend on anger and small words".

Iran has warned Europe that time is running out on saving an global deal on its nuclear program and reiterated its criticism of the United States for "unilateralism" by withdrawing from the accord. The point isn't that each of those deals was ideal, but to Trump they were disastrous primarily because they involved the United States joining with other countries in the hopes that everyone could emerge better off. That's an idea he just can not wrap his head around.

"The national security pretext is absurd and frankly insulting to Canadians, the closest and strongest ally the United States has had".

"Looking forward to straightening out unfair Trade Deals with the G-7 countries". This too is revealing. Donald Trump's style is to go it alone.

And he might just get his way.

The leader of the largest coalition partner in Italy's new Eurosceptic government, 5-Star Movement head and newly-named Industry and Labour Minister, Luigi Di Maio, insisted that the West's sanctions on Russian Federation are harmful to Italy's economy, adding, "I have always said that our country must remain in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation but that the sanctions on Russian Federation damage us", adding that "we are pro-Italian, not pro-Russia".

So things are going great! She took particular issue with Trump's previous claim that imports of Canadian steel and aluminum had made USA steel and aluminum plants unsustainable, thereby threatening national security.
