Ubisoft Reveals New Beyond Good and Evil 2 Gameplay Footage

Slowly but surely, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is coming into focus.

The staff combat in the game is regarded by the developers as an expansion of the same mechanics from Beyond Good & Evil.

The surprise announcement, or one of, at Ubisoft's E3 press conference previous year was the announcement that the long-awaited Beyond Good and Evil 2 was still in development.

There's also a strong co-op element to the game as you travel around as an armada of space pirates, although you can also play on your own in the same shared environment. Today, Ubisoft held yet another live stream on Twitch to show off some more of the game, specifically how the players in the game will move and how the spaceships in the game will operate. The first is showing off Shani and her staff-wielding maneuvers. It's revealed that you'll be able to use your jetpack inside of the ship and you can easily use it to disembark and fly around with or board a smaller ship like a fighter if you'd like to be a bit more maneuverable. Microsoft's press conference takes place on Sunday, June 11, at 1 PM Pacific, and you can be sure GameSpot will be here to cover it for you. The character movement seen above is incredibly fluid, nearly effortless, and that bodes well for the fact that this is still considered "alpha" footage despite being far from it.

As mentioned by Ubisoft's Michel Ancel, this game will truly be what you want it to be.

What do you think of the staff combat and ship footage shown off in the video?
