Rinne (35) was pulled for the third time this post-season.

"Until that puck crosses the line, he's going to try to keep making a desperation save".

The Predators goaltender somehow got the butt-end of his upside-down stick to stop Morrissey's shot just before it crossed the line.

A win in game six and the Jets would advance to the Western Conference final against either the San Jose Sharks or Vegas Golden Knights.

"I just looked skyward; I couldn't believe it". Unfortunately, it didn't go in. "We just got behind by a goal tonight and couldn't turn the switch". Nashville won the next two to tie the series before eventually losing 4-2.

Maurice reunited Connor with Wheeler and Mark Scheifele - the trio combined for eight points Saturday - following a 2-1 loss in Game 4 after moving him to the second unit with Paul Stastny and Patrik Laine for the last five periods of the series. "We're going to win the next game". It's going to be important. "We can't wait to get back there on Monday". Dustin Byfuglien found the net less than two minutes later after a nice feed from Brandon Tanev.

The series comes back to Winnipeg for Game 6 on Monday, another 8:30 p.m. CT start.

The Jets held an optional skate and off-ice workout Friday at home, with only the scratches from Game 4 taking a twirl before they flew to Tennessee.

"I don't lose sleep", Connor said. Both teams are fast, both have high end scorers and elite goaltenders, but the Jets have an explosiveness the Preds can't match. Their fans are great. Last season after the Predators went down 2-0 to the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, Subban told reporters, "There's no question".

Connor Hellebuyck made 38 saves in a winning effort. Winnipeg then lost a tough 5-4 overtime decision in Game 2. Down 3-2 in the series, Nashville seeks to force a Game 7 at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, May 10.

If the Jets do advance to the third round, it would be a first for a Winnipeg-based National Hockey League team.

A lot of people were calling for Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers to pick up their games after going goal-less for nine playoff games.

"The guys on the ice, that's their assignment for 15, 18 minutes, whatever they play at even strength that night", Boston coach Bruce Cassidy said. Both teams are never out of games until it's over. Hopefully we can bounce back (tonight) in a good way. "We Make Real Noise", one read.

Coach Paul Maurice said Friday they spent some time doing video work to hopefully address how Nashville was able to stifle Winnipeg's high-octane offence so well, especially when the Predators made it 2-0 and then held the Jets to just two shots over almost 20 minutes of play.

Winnipeg has been a good offensive team in the playoffs as they come in ranked 1st in scoring at 3.80 gpg, while also ranking 3rd in shots taken (34.8 spg) and 4th in power play conversions, converting on 25.9% of their chances.

"It just seemed like every time we made a mistake it ended up in our net", Predators defenceman P.K. Subban said.

The Jets got the game's first power play on the next shift, but Johansen raced the other way on a 2-on-1 and beat Hellebuyck shortside for his fifth only 58 seconds later. The game played out as close to what "on paper" would imply in this series.
