Man sets world record after eating 30000th Big Mac

Don Gorske holds the world record for "Most Big Macs Consumed" and now, he's hit a milestone: his 30,000th Big Mac.

He's been eating Big Macs since 1972 when he bought his first one.

Gorske claims to have eaten two Big Macs nearly every day since 1972.

But to understand just how devoted a fan Gorske is, I think we need to break out the calculator. He drove in a snowstorm to buy the sandwich but the restaurant was closed.

Most people have fast food as an indulgence, perhaps, but for the American man who ate his 30,000th Big Mac last week, "I'm lovin' it" does not even come close to describing his burger obsession.

Gorske estimates that it took him 365 days to consume the first 1,000 Big Macs.

Gorske also collects mementos of his Big Mac orders. He has an impressive collection of receipts, burger wrappers, and containers.

He ate his 20,000 Big Mac in 2004. Among the other Big Mac-related facts he knows is the date that McDonald's switched from lettuce leaves to shredded lettuce - February 10, 1999. He says he is often asked about the effects of all those Big Macs on his health. He says his cholesterol and blood pressure are normal.

Tall and lanky, with a graying ponytail and friendly demeanor, Gorske has obsessive compulsive disorder and a meticulous memory, which lends to his Big Mac habit and his penchant for details.

Gorske has appeared in numerous television shows including Rachel Ray Show, Oprah, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Inside Edition, and Lopez Tonight.

The retired prison guard first sunk his teeth into a Big Mac on May 17, 1972, and has been keeping track of his consumption ever since. He was featured in the movie "Supersize Me".

He also made a promise to his mum not to eat one on the day she died.
