Carry out dialogue and cooperative activities in the field of intellectual property rights under the MoU signed between the Swedish Patent Registration Office and the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion of India. Sweden has been a partner of India in the defence sector for a long time. Though the bilateral trade fell to Dollars 1.9 billion in 2016-17, as compared to about USD 2.17 billion in 2015-16, Swedish investments and other economic activities in India have been on the rise. India along with the Nordic countries wants an expansion of both permanent and non-permanent seats for making more representative, accountable and effective to counter the issues of 21st century.

"India's engagement is absolutely brilliant there is a recognition that the Commonwealth offers a great opportunity for India and within that opportunity lies an opportunity for the rest of the Commonwealth", says Lord Marland, chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC). Nordic solutions in clean technologies, maritime solutions, port modernization, food processing, health and life-sciences and agriculture were mentioned.
