Cool and sunny today with winter weather Monday morning

The showers should depart right after midnight with the clouds gradually clearing through morning. Our in-house forecast model does indicate a slight chance of a mountaintop flurry, otherwise, we are dry overnight. High temperatures reach the low to mid 70s. Rain mixed with snow will move through the Tri-State tonight, but the good news is that it does not look like it will have much impact on the Monday morning drive.

The warmth expands a bit further on Friday as the mercury inches towards 70° with mostly sunny skies. Still behind the seasonable high of 51°. Other than some snow showers lifting over the mountains behind a cold front, I think Monday is probably the last snow event we'll deal with until sometime late in the year. This could trigger additional isolated showers, particularly Tuesday morning. Southerly winds and sunshine heat the Big Country into the 70s. Just more wall to wall sunshine being the only difference. Later today, expect clouds to increase, but the day will be dry. This is causing some continued snow showers as well as more rain and mixed precipitation. The previous lowest high temperature was 22, recorded in 2007.

Lisa Michaels says clouds will continue to cover skies tonight.

A cold front will cross over late Monday pushing a lot of the clouds away.
