CinemaCon 2018: New Venom Trailer Revealed

He looks class! The trailer was revealed at Sony's CinemaCon event and this time we actually get to see what the character of Venom is shaping up to be. After all, that first trailer which dropped a while back was oddly put together, in that it didn't even show us the titular symbiote - arguably the main attraction of the film.

Based on the trailer, a corporation gets its hands on an experimental material that it calls a "symbiote" and begins experimenting by having this unknown compound attach itself to a human host.

Sony will release "Venom" in theaters nationwide October 5. "I could do a movie that my son could watch". Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, and Michelle Williams also star. Venom was a moniker taken by quite a few characters, with Eddie Brock being the most popular one.

Tom Hardy stars as Venom and fits the bill perfectly, we have to give it that.

If the character sounds kind of familiar, you may recall that he's frequently associated with Spider-Man - Topher Grace played a version of him in 2007's Spider-Man 3. That was bound to change soon as Hardy confirmed a new trailer was coming, but a leak beat the official footage.

We'll tell you one thing - we combed through this trailer, and there's neither sight nor sound of either Tom Holland's Peter Parker, Woody Harrelson, or Carnage, despite persistent rumors regarding the inclusion of all of the above.

After the success of Spider-Man: Homecoming past year, Sony Pictures is expanding the superhero franchise with the animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Fans have been itching for a look at Hardy as Venom. When asked who he is, Brock says, "we are Venom".
