Usain Bolt to train with Borussia Dortmund during global break

However, he has chose to train with German football club Borussia Dortmund, to fine tune his skills.

The Bundesliga also shared video of the full 75-minute practice session on its Facebook page. Bolt has been teasing his appearance in the soccer world for some time, and he seems beyond thrilled to be pursuing the sport he loves.

Bolt dismissed even the suggestion of playing for Dortmund's reserves in Germany's third division to gain experience.

"It's been in the making for nearly two years, and certainly also down to Usain Bolt's good relationship with our board member [and Puma CEO] Bjorn Gulden".

Bolt is all geared up to join Borussia Dortmund this week and says he will give his best at the club.

Bolt also took to Twitter to share a few photographs of his day at Dortmund where he can be seen interacting with Reus and Goetze.

In one photo he was seen taking instructions from the 2014 World Cup final goalscorer Mario Gotze.

"I think overall I will give myself probably a seven out of ten", Bolt told reporters after the training session. "After the trials I can tell him: 'listen, I can do this and do that.' So let's see what happens".

"So I'm looking forward to that and that's my focus right now".

He did admit he does not have the stamina to play at that top level yet. I'm a very determined person when I want something so I'm going to go there and do my best.

The eight-time Olympic champion, who retired following the 2017 athletics world championships in London previous year, has swapped his spikes for studs and will captain the World XI at Soccer Aid later this summer.

Since retiring from athletics a year ago, Bolt has made no secret of his dreams to play football and insists he is serious.
