Neymar to begin rehab after operation

Quoted on Brazilian newspaper O Globo's website, he said: "The recovery takes from two and a half months to three months".

The world's most expensive footballer was using crutches to walk and wearing a big protective boot on his right foot.

The operation was declared a complete success.

His recovery will be monitored by Brazil and PSG physiotherapist Rafael Martini, who has been working alongside Neymar since he started his career at Santos in Sao Paulo.

The Saturday operation repaired a cracked fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

The Brazilian chose to undergo an operation after breaking his fifth metatarsal against Marseille last weekend, rather than recover in the usual way and play on pain-killing injections.

There have been suggestions that the 26-year-old could be out for three months and he will be eager to be fully fit to represent Brazil at this summer's World Cup, which gets underway on June 14.

Now the question is whether the 26-year-old player can catch any of PSG's remaining season, and even what kind of shape he will be in at the start of Brazil's World Cup campaign in Russian Federation this June.

NEYMAR is seen for the first time since having surgery on his foot as he boards a private jet.

He will be assessed by PSG bosses in six weeks to determine when he will be able to return to training. "He will devote himself to being well as soon as possible".

Not only will he miss next week's game against Real Madrid, his participation in this season's Champions League would be over unless the Ligue 1 giants reach the final in Kiev.
