Karen McDougal to Melania Trump: I'm really sorry

"And I actually did not take that", McDougal told CNN's Anderson Cooper of her first sexual encounter with Trump, which she said took place in a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, has apologised to Melania Trump for having an affair with her husband US President Donald Trump.

She also said that Donald Trump offered to pay her after they had been intimate for the first time in 2006 and that it made her cry.

"You know, I know a lot of people think it's odd", she responded.

McDougal alleged that they had sex on that night, but the situation became freakish when he offered her money.

McDougal also said that the President said she was attractive "like Ivanka", Trump's eldest daughter.

'I don't even know how to describe the look on my face. Or is this a normal thing?

She told Anderson Trump was always kind to her and that was "not the man that I knew" on that tape. "What can you say except "I'm sorry"?" she said.

When asked if she thought this would lead to a marriage, Ms McDougal said, "Maybe". "I left, I actually got into the vehicle... and I started crying, I was really sad, it really hurt me, but I went back..."

Offering to pay back the contracted sum she has with the company, McDougal denied to CNN that she was trying to profit further on her story and wanted the rights to her own narrative. She talks about the time Trump gave her a tour of his New York City apartment and on being shown Melania's room saying, "I just couldn't wait to get out of the apartment".

She said she met Mr Trump at the Playboy Mansion during filming of Celebrity Apprentice, a TV series in which he starred.

It's the latest in a string of scandals to affect Melania and Donald.

McDougal is just the latest to come forward about alleged affairs with Trump or unwanted sexual advances.

McDougal claims that she used to feel guilty about the affair but continued to meet Trump as she had feelings for him.

"You've seen the other stories about him, it didn't hurt him".

For instance, Stormy Daniels' is a non-disclosure agreement which prevented her from talking about her relationship with Trump.

And said her story probably would not have damaged his chance at the presidency. McDougal filed a lawsuit with The National Enquirer's parent company, American Media, Inc., also known as AMI. Still, she allegedly finds it very hard to trust her husband. She said it was during a time when she was much younger and at a completely different space in her life.
