McGee went up for a block in the third quarter against the Atlanta Hawks, and fell on Stephen Curry's left leg. Curry exited the game immediately, and the Warriors training staff took him to the locker room. The Warriors do not yet know the extent of the injury, but Curry will undergo an MRI Sunday (AEDT).

During the game, the Warriors announced on Twitter that the two-time MVP will no longer return after suffering a "left knee strain".

As mentioned, Curry has missed games four different times with several ankle sprains this season.

Curry had 29 points at the time of the injury.

If Curry misses 39 days, he will miss the beginning of the playoffs.

It's comforting to hear Curry say that he will remain wearing his ankle braces, but Warriors fans have to wonder if the low-top shoes will provide the support he requires with his recurring ankle issues.

Nick Young scored 24 points with six 3-pointers for the defending champions, who were already missing their other All-Stars - Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.

"I feel bad", Kerr said.

By that point, the Warriors (54-18) established a comfortable lead after trailing by as many as 15 points against a Hawks team (21-51) that had gone 2-8 in their previous 10 games. This could mean the Warriors do want to dial back Andre Iguodala.

Barring a setback in shoot-around or pregame warmups Friday, Curry will return to the starting lineup against the Hawks.

Kerr plans to participate in the Oakland "March For Our Lives" walk Saturday with his family to offer his support in the movement to end gun violence and mass shootings in the U.S.
