The Huawei Mate 10 Pro Is Already Available for US Preorders

Those who will preorder between now and February 17 will even get a $150 gift card from any retailer of their choosing, according to a press release.

In addition, Huawei has started United States pre-orders for its most expensive smartphone model to date - the Mate 10 Porsche Design edition, which is priced at US$1,255.

Huawei Technologies, China's largest smartphone supplier, is now offering an unlocked version of its flagship Mate 10 Pro model for pre-orders with a steep discount and some incentives to USA consumers, following the company's failed bid to establish distribution through a major American mobile network operator. Both Verizon and AT&T pulled out of deals when they should have carried the Mate 10 Pro in their stores. The current retailer line-up includes Amazon, B&H, Newegg and Best Buy. The regular Mate 10 Pro price is $800. The Mate 10 Guru is pushed as one of the first phones to have the ability to make the most of 5G networks, but some U.S. agencies fear it might open up the country to security threats, awarded Huawei's links to the Chinese government. The buyers who are looking for the gift card offer will need to pre-order the phone before February 17.

Huawei is touting the Mate 10 Pro as one of the early adaptors of the 5G network. The US version of the Mate 10 Pro will not come with dual-SIM support.

It also brings the power of a dual Leica-branded rear camera and bundles a 4,000 mAh battery to keep everything running smoothly. To partially explain its premium price, the Porsche Design has a diamond black body, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The phone features Huawei's AI-enhanced processor with a dedicated Neural Network Processing Unit (NPU). The Huawei Mate 10 comes with a 5.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) IPS LCD display, while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro sports a 6-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display, so not only do the two phones sport different display resolutions and aspect ratio, but completely different display technologies as well. On the front, the Mate 10 Pro houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

You can pick between Midnight Blue and Titanium Grey color versions at the moment, with Mocha Brown supposedly coming soon.
