Jonathan Martin in Custody After Post with Gun, Threats Makes HS Close

Los Angeles police spokesperson Tony Kway told USA TODAY Sports that officers from the department's North Hollywood division responded to the school "after an Instagram post by a former student who is now an adult".

The post included the words, "When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge".

The school later issued a statement saying: "Last evening, we learned of an Internet post that mentions Harvard-Westlake by name".

It was unclear if Martin personally posted the photo, an official told the AP, who stressed that Martin had not been arrested but merely questioned over the post. Former teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, as well as two others, were tagged in the post.

Ted Wells, an independent investigator sanctioned by the National Football League, found that Incognito, Pouncey and John Jerry engaged in a "pattern of harrassment" toward Martin.

In the wake of the horrific school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, mental health and gun violence have become highly-discussed topics in the news.

A former Miami Dolphins player was questioned in connection to a social media post that prompted classes to be canceled at Harvard-Westlake School on Friday.

Harvard-Westlake students received a message through the school's Emergency Notificiation System at 7:14 a.m. Friday morning, and police reported to the campus around the same time. The alert did not say anything more about the threat, but said the school would release more information later in the day.

The post by Mr. Martin, a 2008 Westlake graduate, follows the February 14 shooting massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

"We apologize for the short notice; the safety of our students is our highest priority", the notification said.

This threat was taken so seriously that Harvard-Westlake shut down its campus on Friday. Martin is Black and Incognito is white. "It takes away your self-confidence, your self-worth, your sanity".
