WWE Suspends Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore After Rape Accusation Surfaces

The WWE released a statement regarding Arndt's suspension just hours before its 25th anniversary Monday Night Raw program, which Arndt was set to feature on.

WWE has released cruiserweight champion Enzo Amore from his contract, following a sexual assault allegation against the wrestler.

The woman who filed a police report claiming Enzo Amore raped her past year took part in an on-camera interview with TMZ today and went into further detail about her allegations.

Amore was accused of rape on Monday by a Twitter user with the handle @MissGucciWitch."OKAY.it's been long enough & I have been so so scared to share this".

Enzo has yet to make any formal response to the accusation, which also implicates designer Tyler Grosso and a woman named Layla Shapiro as so-called "accomplices". "PUT ME UNDER A LIE DETECTOR RIGHT NOW", she tweeted, according to Wrestling Inc. She was then left alone with Amore, who allegedly assaulted her. She said Amore assaulted her in a Phoenix hotel room and that she passed out after he pushed her onto a bed and she hit her head.

We will keep you informed if we receive any other details regarding his termination from the company. "My mental issues have been the worst ever & i suffer from major PTSD from it".

WWE published a one sentence statement on its website revealing Amore had been cut. The company originally said he would be suspended "until this matter is resolved" but released him a day later.

Amore was terminated on January 23, 2018, which ended his seven-year career with WWE as a two-time Cruiserweight Champion. Phoenix PD confirmed there is an ongoing investigation, pending lab results.

Enzo, 31, signed a contract with the WWE in 2012.

Amore became the face of WWE's fledgling cruiserweight division, consistently the lowest-ranking among fans, in an effort to pump up the brand.
