Mariah Carey Performs New Year's Eve Set Unscathed After Last Year's Disaster

Ryan Seacrest will return once again as host of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, leading the traditional countdown to 2018, which is now in its 46th year.

"They told me there would be tea", she said.

"Oh! It's a disaster! OK, well we'll just have to rough it", she said after no hot drink appeared. "I'm gonna be like everybody else with no hot tea".

A tweet from the show declared the performance a "take two" from Carey, and she clearly aced it after a shaky first effort. But as she was preparing for her next song, "Hero", Carey chose to take a much needed hot beverage break - there was only one problem. We want to be clear that we have the utmost respect for Ms. Carey as an artist and acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments in the industry.

You may remember that she headlined the festivities last New Year's and she stopped singing multiple times throughout her set of songs.

The five-time Grammy victor revealed on New Year's Day that she was finally able to sip on her desired beverage after a beyond chilly night.

The entertainer was back for a repeat performance on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve with Ryan Seacrest show.

As she took the stage before cameras started rolling, Carey - dressed in a crystallized nude gown and elegant white fur coat - laughed off just how freezing it was in Times Square (10 degrees, -7 with windchill, to be exact) by giving eager fans a couple camera-made shots.

With such a poorly-received performance, Mariah had a lot of weight on her shoulders when it was announced that she would return for New Year's Rockin' Eve this year. It's a shame she can't perform like she use to.

Last year's show ended in disaster when the track for her 1991 hit Emotions malfunctioned during her performance.
