Harvey Weinstein Attacked By Man At A Restaurant

A video appears to show a drunk patron slapping embattled producer Harvey Weinstein in an Arizona restaurant on Tuesday night.

The man, named only as Steve, claimed Weinstein was belligerent, but a restaurant manager said Weinstein was "sweet" and politely declined the request. In response, Steve called the producer "a f-king piece of shit" and told him to "get the f-k out of here".

Steve told TMZ that Weinstein stumbled backward and nearly fell but the restaurant manager said the punches did not connect and that the man was drunk and disorderly.

TMZ obtained footage of the encounter, which shows the Steve backhanding Weinstein twice across the face.

It is unclear if Weinstein filed a police report. His representative was not able to elaborate any further and the resort where the incident took place declined to comment.

Weinstein was one of the first prominent figures in entertainment and politics to topple during the #MeToo movement that seeks to bring victims' voices to the forefront and hold predators accountable.

A video of the confrontation was posted on the celebrity news site TMZ.

Weinstein went to Scottsdale in October and took part in a therapy programme there shortly after sexual misconduct allegations against him began to emerge.

Weinstein has been living in Arizona at a rehab facility following accusations from almost 100 women that he sexually harassed/assaulted them.

Weinstein's spokeswoman, Sallie Hofmeister, told the Times in a statement, "Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein".

Weinstein is now under investigation by New York, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and London authorities.
