Chargers to play 'home' game in London vs. Titans in October

The Seahawks at Raiders match is scheduled for 14 October, week six of the NFL's regular season, while the two Wembley matches will be played on 21 and 28 October.

Jacksonville will host the Philadelphia Eagles in one of those weeks, while the Los Angeles Chargers will host the Tennessee Titans.

The Seahawks and Oakland Raiders will kick off the festivities on October 14 at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Waller, NFL executive vice-president of events and worldwide, said: "I think we are ready, we have definitely learned a lot in the 11 years we have been doing this".

On Thursday, the National Football League announced a trio of games that are set to take place overseas in London. The Philadelphia Eagles will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have become a regular in London.

There will be a total of three matches in the 2018 London schedule with Wembley Stadium hosting the two other clashes. The order of those games will be announced closer to the season. Both will be considered home games, meaning the team will play one fewer game in StubHub Center in 2018 and 2019.

"That's very important it was one of the factors to play three games rather than four".

Next season, the Titans will travel to face the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and the Chargers in London.

"This is another important year as we develop our plans for London and the United Kingdom", said NFL Executive Vice President of worldwide and Events Mark Waller.

"We are very excited about playing our first game at Tottenham's magnificent new stadium and will follow our usual pattern of playing one game in our first season at a new venue, as we did at Wembley and Twickenham in previous years". We are able to contemplate something as audacious as having a team in London.

Tottenham has signed a 10-year contract for games with the NFL.

The new stadium was designed with NFL-sized changing rooms and to ensure the grass soccer pitch can be retracted and kept under lights below the stands when the artificial surface is required for NFL. The home of English football has now hosted 18 NFL games, with nearly 1.5 million fans in attendance.
