Soul Calibur VI launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2018

Unreal Engine - For the first time in franchise history, attractive and jaw-dropping 3D character models, visual effects and stages rendered in Unreal Engine.

After years of teasing SoulCalibur 6, it was finally announced at The Game Awards 2017. The game will contain both new and returning characters, with Mitsurugi and Sophitia being the two main characters confirmed at this point.

Definitely one for fighting fans to keep an eye on in the new year! The latest entry maintains some of the classic elements while introducing new systems like Reversal Edge, and you can see the debut trailer below. According to the developers, the Reversal Edge will allow characters to clash and counterattack each other based on their opponents actions; it is definitely a system I am looking forward to learning more about in the future. Challenge the computer AI, compete against friends, or challenge fighters from around the world in high-speed dynamic battles with jaw-dropping visual effects. Players have been able to select characters like Link from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda in Soulcalibur II and Ezio from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed in Soulcalibur V.

Mark Religioso, Brand Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment America, notes that the fast and kinetic gameplay that fans know and love is back in full form with Soul Calibur 6.

The weapons and character roster is apparently "stellar" and even more so when "combined with a simple control layout".
