Arrest made after missing North Carolina girl presumed dead

Authorities said Saturday afternoon it was with "deep sadness" that they believed a missing 3-year-old North Carolina girl was dead. He's believed to be the live-in boyfriend of Mariah Woods' mother, and one of the last people to have seen the little girl who was reported missing Monday. He is in jail, with bail set at $1 million, and police say more charges are possible.

32-year-old Earl Kimrey was taken into custody by investigators at the Onslow County Sheriff's Office Friday.

The arrest warrants for Kimrey obtained by WGHP show that he is accused of stealing two dressers from a home on High Hill Road around the time of Mariah's disappearance, between 11 p.m. Sunday and 3 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said they have not yet located Mariah's body, and the missing persons search that included Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and K-9 units will now shift to a recovery effort.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Stanley Meador on Saturday appealed to people with surveillance cameras near the home where Mariah disappeared to share their video with authorities. The warrant states that he obstructed justice by "removing Mariah Woods body from the scene of her death and did hide Mariah Woods death and body, knowing that Mariah Woods died from unnatural causes". Authorities said they have been using all means necessary to find Mariah including ground searches assist by a helicopter and K9 units - so far, officials have covered 100 acres.

NBC affiliate WRAL that Kimrey lived in the home with Mariah and her mother.

Kimrey's attorney, Walter Paramore, did not immediately return a call for comment.

The FBI released this photo of Mariah Woods, who was reporting missing on November 27, 2017.

The FBI was analyzing items recovered during the search, which included sorting through 95,000 pounds of trash from a landfill, authorities said. He is charged with concealing of death, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

'I love her. I'll do anything that I can, whatever you want. Woods said her boyfriend, Kimrey, also checked on her around midnight. "She's my baby, she's my everything", said Kristy Woods in a press conference.
