Overwatch Adding New Character Moira, "Ambitious" Talon Geneticist

There were three huge announcements given for Overwatch at BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment's yearly conference, this year.

Hot off the tail of announcing a new map and a new hero at BlizzCon 2017, Overwatch brought out Overwatch voice actor Darin De Paul, the heart and soul behind beloved tank character Reinhardt, to debut the latest animated short. She's essentially Mercy's dark counterpart - she's a healer, but she's got an edgier look, and is a former member of the shadowy Blackwatch division. Further details on Moira can be viewed on her Overwatch hero page.

Biotic Grasp - Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Moira is a support hero, offering both damaging and offensive options with her abilities, transitioning between two attack types: a yellow, healing attack, and a purple, damaging attack.

The official Overwatch website also lists her background story for those that are interested in it. It's not entirely clear how her abilities work, but it seems that she will function kind of like Zenyatta in that players will need to swap between damage and healing. We got a look at a new character, map, and a moving Reinhardt animated short. Her ultimate ability, Coalescence, lets her unleash a beam that will heal any allies caught in it, or deal damage to any foes caught inside of it.

It's all very epic, as you'll certainly be able to see below, alongside Moira's introduction, a few screenshots showing her in action, and the introduction of a new map themed after a Blizzard theme park. The map is part assault and part payload and it will be going live early 2018 and will be on the PTR soon.
