Carol Danvers was an Air Force pilot who was infused with alien Kree DNA after touching some of the Kree's enhanced technology.

It's well over a year since Brie Larson signed on to play Captain Marvel on the big screen. Set to play the villain is Star Wars alum Ben Mendelsohn, who played the reprehensible Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He is also still attached to appear in a third Sherlock Holmes movie with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr.

Variety is reporting that Law is in talks with Marvel Studios to join the cast of Captain Marvel in an undisclosed role. In the pages of Marvel comics, the original Captain Marvel character (a Kree warrior known as Mar-Vell) took on the identity of Doctor Lawson as his secret identity as he hid out on Earth. Samuel L. Jackson is supposed to make an appearance as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel as well. He'll also be seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, playing Young Dumbledore opposite Johnny Depp (ugh) as Young Grindelwald. One thing we know for sure: the film is going to be a bit of a prequel for the MCU, set almost 20 years before the events of the original 2008 Iron Man.

The feature is pegged to a March 2019 release as it stands, and it is believed Law would play a mentor to Brie's superhero.

Who do you think Law will be playing in Captain Marvel? More on the Captain Marvel movie as it comes our way.
