Hearthstone's Kobolds and Catacombs expansion launches next week

Deceptively simple in design but epically engaging, Hearthstone will be instantly accessible to players regardless of their familiarity with Warcraft or collectible card games.

Along with 135 new cards, Blizzard is stuffing the expansion with free single-player content which anyone can access for free (the fun-looking Choose Your Own Adventure-like Dungeon Run mode). In this mode players will face a boss and if they manage to defeat it they will be able to add cards to their hands. The card packs, however, will only unlock on December 7.

Kobolds & Catacombs is set to drop on 8th December according to news from Blizzard. But if you lose just once, you start from the beginning with a fresh deck. Blizzard announced that players can earn three card packs through Dungeon Runs and three more simply by logging on after "Kobolds and Catacombs" is released. As with any new Hearthstone expansion, you can pre-order 50 card packs from the new expansion for $49.99 and unlock a "For the Hoard" card back to your deck.

Those daring enough to courageous the hazards and monstrosities of this subterranean realm will have ample chance to stuff their bags with awe-inspiring treasures in the form of 135 wondrous new cards!

As previously revealed, players will receive three Kobolds & Catacombs packs, as well as a Legendary Weapon pack completely free of charge once they log in to the game after its release.
