Today is Giving Tuesday, a global online giving campaign driven by social media.

Check out the variety of nonprofits highlighted by Facebook. You could double your donations on Facebook. Eastern and continue until the $2 million runs out.

Be sure to help spread the word on November 28 by using the hashtag #GivingTuesday across social media. That makes donations from individual supporters more important than ever.

Once you configure the app, you have a chance to win a $1,000 donation to your charity through their monthly Doofl ("donation raffle" or "Do-Full"). Schmidt also says plan ahead and know how much you want to give to a certain charity.
