They accused Rose of groping them and walking around naked while they were either working at his home or traveling on business. "Given the choice between the star and the underling, of course the underling thinks they're going to pick the star; they're going to get rid of me, I'm replaceable". "Charlie and I - we've worked together, been friends", but she said she has been thinking about "the anguish of those women" who have alleged mistreatment by Rose.

Fellow co-host Nora O'Donnell also denounced Rose without equivocation. "Oprah called me and said, 'Are you OK?' I am not OK", King said.

"I think things are changing", King said, "and that is a good thing".

The statement continues, "I am greatly embarrassed". I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate.

Rose was sacked by CBS and PBS, who announced they were cutting ties with the longtime newsman after numerous women have come forward with allegations that he sexually harassed them. I have learned a great deal as a result of these events, and I hope others will too.

It was 2002, and Sarah Gordon, then an intern for Rose's show, went to his apartment to bring him his mail, according to NBC News.

"He asked me, 'How does this make you feel, you know?"

The Post said that in addition to the eight women, the newspaper spoke to about two dozen former employees of Rose on condition of anonymity and that six said they had seen what they considered to be harassment, and eight said they were not comfortable with the host's treatment of his female employees. That's what they (said), 'Just do it.

The women ranged in age from 21 to 37 at the time of the alleged incidents, according to The Post.

After the report, a CBS News spokeswoman said "this is new information" that was received by management after Rose was sacked at lunchtime Tuesday.

Gayle King is still processing the allegations against Charlie Rose.

Rose could not immediately be reached to comment, but on Monday apologized for his "inappropriate behavior".

One of the women who did speak publically worked as one of the veteran journalist's assistants when she was in her early 20s.

"It is very important", said Vladimir Duthiers, who joined her on "CBS This Morning". "It is crushing. I deeply regret not helping them".
